Last weekend Microsoft pulled the plug to download Windows 10 version 1511 via Media Creation Tool – I've blogged about that in Microsoft pulls Windows 10 V 1511 downloads. Now 'we are back' – Microsoft has "re-released" the whole thing.
My US MVP collegue Ed Bott has published a few minutes ago an article Microsoft reverses course, restores downloads of Windows 10 November Update at ZDNet.com. Microsoft already has re-enabled the possibility, to download Windows 10 version 1511 using Media Creation Tools. And Microsoft has released a statement, why they have pulled the download last weekend.
Recently we learned of an issue that could have impacted an extremely small number of people who had already installed Windows 10 and applied the November update. Once these customers installed the November update, a few of their settings preferences may have inadvertently not been retained. For these customers, we will restore their settings over the coming days and we apologize for the inconvenience. We worked to resolve the issue as quickly as possible – it will not impact future installs of the November update, which is available today.
Further details may be found in Ed Bott's article Microsoft reverses course, restores downloads of Windows 10 November Update.
