[German]Some users are facing serious issues with Surface Pro 3 batteries. The batteries seems to degrade within weeks after the first year – just after the warranty is over. Now Microsoft has released a statement – it seems that the issue is software related.
Last week I've blogged about a battery issue on Surface Pro 3 devices (see 'Akku gate': Surface Pro 3 and the "sudden" battery dead). The batteries of some devices degrades within weeks after the first year – just after the warranty is over. Here are a report showing the immediate graduation.
There is a lengthy thread in Microsoft's Answers forum, where users complaining about that issue. Now Microsoft's employee Greg has posted the following statement within the thread linked above.
He quote, that – based on Microsoft's investigations – that the issue isn't caused by the battery cells. The developers "believe" the issue can be fixed via software. Let's hope they are right. (via)
