Update KB3150513 for Windows 8/8.1/10 (08/31/2016)

Microsoft has released this night another update KB3150513 for Windows 10 Version 1511, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and  Windows 7 to improve compatibility definition.

Update KB3150513 (August 2016 compatibility definition update for Windows) provides the latest set of definitions for compatibility diagnostics that are performed on the system. The goal is, to enable Microsoft to ensure compatibility of systems to install the latest Windows operating system. This means feature upgrades in Windows 10 and also upgrade to Windows 10 from older Windows platforms.

Update KB3150513 will be offered for Windows 7 (RTM and SP1), Windows 8.0/Windows 8.1, and Windows 10 Version 1511, if the requirements are fulfilled

  • Windows 10 Version 1511: Cumulative Update (KB3176493) the August 9, 2016 has been installed.
  • Windows 8.1/ Windows 8: Update KB2976978 (Compatibility update for Windows 8.1 and Windows 8) from 07/12/2016 has been installed.
  • Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1): Update KB2952664 (Compatibility update for upgrading Windows 7) from 07/12/2016 has been installed.
  • Windows 7 RTM: Update KB2977759 (Compatibility update for Windows 7 RTM) from 07/12/2016 has been installed.

The new update will be offered via Windows Update and via Microsoft Update Catalog (Internet Explorer required). After installing a restart is required.
