It was just a short episode that Microsoft did there in Berlin. The Mixed Reality Studio in Berlin is closed after 2 1/2 years, 10 employees have to look for a new job.
The announcement from Dirk Songü, head of the Mixed Reality Studio in Berlin, came yesterday via Twitter, as MSPU reported.
This was a rational business and strategic decision. Everybody agrees we delivered great work for customers, partners & internally and there is little we could have done more. Which makes this even more heartbreaking – we all love to be at Microsoft, working on MR.

This is probably a business and strategy decisions at Microsoft, in which the studio has no more place. The Berlin studio has been focussing mainly on HoloLens. The fact that Microsoft works closely with German car manufacturers to use the technology in their design and manufacturing processes makes the decision somewhat difficult to understand. The question arises whether this has any influence on the HoloLens 2.
