[German]Microsoft has just announced the support extension for Windows 10 version 1809 until November 2020 for the Home and Pro versions. The reason is the current coronavirus pandemic.
Due to the lockdown in the face of the coronavirus crisis, many people work from their home office. Since some Windows 10 function updates do not make sense. Microsoft is therefore starting to extend the support period for various products by several months. This now also affects Windows 10 version 1809 in the Home and Pro versions, which would have fallen out of support in May 2020.
Life cycle of Windows 10
The dates from which a Windows 10 version is no longer supported with updates can be found on the Windows 10 Life Cycle page. Windows 10 Enterprise is scheduled to drop out of support on April 14, 2020.

The above table is already incorrect regarding Windows 10 version 1709 Enterprise and Eduction, because Microsoft has extended support until October (see 10 Version 1709: Support extended till October 2020). According to the above table, Windows 10 version 1809 would also have been dropped from support in May 2020.
Support extension of Windows 10 version 1809
Just now I was made aware of the support extension for Windows 10 version 1809 Home and Pro by this comment. It's unbelievable, in mid-March 2020, people from Microsoft were still saying that no support extension was planned for this Windows 10 variant (see my German comment here citing a source at Microsoft). On 14 April 2020, Microsoft published KB article 4557164 on the amended support data. This article now specifies the following support ends:
- Windows 10, version 1709 (Enterprise, Education, IoT Enterprise). The last security update for this version will be released on October 13, 2020 instead of April 14, 2020 (that's already known).
- Windows 10, version 1809 (Home, Pro, Pro Education, Pro for Workstations, IoT Core). The last security update for this version will be released on November 10, 2020 instead of May 12, 2020.
At the same time, Microsoft will temporarily suspend the initiated feature updates for Home and Pro editions running on version 1809. The restart of the rollout process for Microsoft-initiated feature updates for devices running Windows 10 version 1809 will be closely monitored in advance of the end of support now scheduled for November 10, 2020. Users will have sufficient time to ensure a smooth update process (see Windows Message Center for more information).
