Chrome 101.0.4951.41 fixes 30 Vulnerabilities – but has a GPO bug

[German]Google has released updates to Google Chrome 101.0.4951.41 for Windows and Mac on the desktop in the Stable Channel as of April 26, 2022. This is the new 101 development branch, with the update closing 30 vulnerabilities, some of which are rated High. Addendum: But this version ignores group policies (GPOs). In addition, updates to version 100.0.4896.143 are available in the Extended Stable channel. The relevant entries can be found in the Google blog.

This Google post on the update to Chrome 101.0.4951.41 for Windows and Mac for the desktop contains brief descriptions of the vulnerabilities closed in the Chrome browser (and here are the details for version 100.0.4896.143 in the Stable Channel for Windows and Mac). However, no details about the vulnerabilities will be published until the majority of users have switched over. The Chrome version for Windows, Mac and Linux will be rolled out to the systems via the automatic update feature in the next few days. One can also update the browser manually (via the menu and the About Google Chrome command). The latest build of the Chrome browser can also be downloaded here.

The group policy bug

Addendum: I received reports from German users, that the new Google Chrome build ignores group policy settings for Windows used in enterprise environments. There is a bug tracker entry confirming this issue.
