Patchday: Windows 11/Server 2022-Updates (August 9, 2022)

Windows[German]On August 9 (second Tuesday of the month, Patchday at Microsoft), Microsoft also released a cumulative update for Windows 11, which will be released on October 5, 2021. This update is automatically downloaded and installed by Windows Update, but is also available in the Microsoft Update Catalog and via WSUS as well as WUfB. Windows Server 2022

Cumulative updateKB5016627 (Windows Server 2022) has been released for Windows Server 2022, according to this Microsoft page, raising the OS build to 20348.887. Among the fixes this update makes, Microsoft writes:

Addresses an issue that might cause the Local Security Authority Server Service (LSASS) to leak tokens. This issue affects devices that have installed Windows updates dated June 14, 2022 or later. Again, no further details are mentioned. Microsoft notes that this update makes quality improvements to the servicing stack (which is responsible for Microsoft updates).
