[German]Microsoft has released an optional cumulative (preview) update KB5035941 for Windows 10 22H2 on March 26, 2024 (D-Week). This preview update is also intended to fix the sysprep error 0x80073cf2, which some users ran into back in November 2023 when installing the update.
Sysprep error 0x80073cf2
There was a problem with the preview update KB5032278 for Windows 10 version 22H2 (all versions), which was released on November 30, 2023 (D-Week) (see also Windows 10 22H2 Preview Update KB5032278 (November 30, 2023)). Users of Windows 10 22H2 noticed that the error code 0x80073cf2 is thrown when using the System Preparation Tool (Sysprep.exe).
Microsoft had added the entry Sysprep might fail after installing updates released November 30, 2023 and later to the Windows release health page in the Known Issues section on January 23, 2023. This post confirms the Sysprep error and provides further details on this error. The reason for the problems with the system preparation tool (Sysprep.exe) are problems with the status of a Microsoft Edge package. Affected Windows devices receive a 0x80073cf2 in the setupact.log. I reported on the problems in the blog post Windows 10 22H2: Nov. 2023 update KB5032278 causes Sysprep to fail with error 0x80073cf2.

The system preparation tool Sysprep.exe enables administrators to generalize a Windows installation. System-specific information is removed so that the installation can be transferred to an installation image and used for other computers.
Windows 10 Update KB5035941
On March 26, 2024 (D-Week), Microsoft released the optional cumulative (preview) update KB5035941 for Windows 10 22H2. I had reported on this update in the blog post Windows 10 22H2 Preview Update KB5035941 (March 26, 2024). In the list of fixes, however, nothing was mentioned regarding the sysprep.exe bug. The colleagues here have noticed, among other things, that Microsoft has published or updated the new entry Sysprep might fail after installing updates released November 30, 2023 and later in the "Known Issues" section of the Windows 10 Health status page.
There it is confirmed that after installing updates released on November 30, 2023 (update KB5032278) or later, some Windows systems may leave the error 0x80073cf2 in the setupact.log file in the sysprep.exe application. This is said to be related to the status of an Edge package. At the same time, Microsoft states that this problem has been corrected with the provision of the preview update KB5035941 (and later updates) for Windows 10 22H2.
