Notes: In the post Outlook 365: CPU spikes will be fixed "soon", I wrote. that Microsoft will ship soon a fix for the CPU load spike bug when typing in Outlook 365. According to this German reader comment, the bug has been fixed with the May 13, 2025 updates.
A blog reader wrote on May 8, 2025 in the discussion area that they "recently" started having problems inserting pictograms in the Office 2019 programs. Only a white window appears.
Another user confirms that users in his company are having the same problem with Microsoft Office 2021 Professional Plus LTSC.
On Reddit there is the thread Unable to insert icons in PowerPoint, but for a different Office version (according to the video), about this bug. The explanation is that Microsoft may have switched off the icon servers with the pictograms. Currently it's not clear, whether this bug has been fixed or not.
