[German]On July 1, 2020, Microsoft released the Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 20161 for insiders in the Developer Channel. This is the first build that was released after switching to the channels. One of the new features are changes to the start menu. Here is some information about this build.
Recently, Microsoft changed the delivery of Windows 10 Insider builds to the channel system (see Windows Insider Program changed from Rings to Channels). On July 1, 2020, Microsoft released the Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 20161 for Insider in the Developer Channel. The Dev Channel is used to test builds from the developer labs that no longer targeted a specific Windows 10 branch. The announcement was made in the Windows Blog, where references to these builds can be found.
Changes in Start Menu
What might be interesting is coming as 'Theme-aware tiles in Start'. The developers are refreshing the start menu with a more streamlined design. This involves removing the monochrome backgrounds behind the logos in the apps list and applying a uniform, partially transparent background to the tiles. The whole thing can be seen in the following GIF.
This changed design of the start menu is supposed to look great in both dark and light design. First, make sure you enable dark mode as a Windows theme, and then, under Settings > Personalization > Color, enable the "Show accent color on the following surfaces" option for Start, Taskbar, and Action Center to elegantly apply your accent color to the Start menu frame and tiles.
