This week, Microsoft has talked about changes to knowledge base articles that are created for cumulative updates. Azure also wants to provide better information about service outages.
Improvements to KB articles about updates
Each of these cumulative update articles has a well-defined and consistent format. It starts with metadata information about the update, mechanisms for purchasing and installing the update, listing all fixes and changes in the update. In some rare cases, there may be a section that informs users about any known issues that occurred after the update was applied. The whole thing has been disclosed in this post in the techcommunitiy. There you can read the details if needed.
Improvements for Azure service autages
Another blog post deals with the fact that Microsoft plans to provide more transparent information about failures of the Azure service in the future. The details can be read here. The bottom line: At the end of the day the whole thing is reduced to the question of how accurate these articles are and whether the updates leave as little collateral damage as possible. (via)
