The developers have just released the e-mail client Thunderbird version 52.9.0. This update fixes bugs and security holes. Here is some information.
In a Security Alert from July 3, 2018 the developers describes the closed vulnerabilities. Sometimes critical vulnerabilities are fixed. The release notes can be found here. The Thunderbird is available for the following platforms.
• Window: Windows XP, Windows Server 2003 or later
• Mac: Mac OS X 10.9 or later
• Linux: GTK+ 3.4 or higher
