[German]Heavy story- the video service Zoom boasts of 'increased security', but makes beginner's mistakes. For example, passwords with 6 digits were assigned by default for private meetings, which could be easily cracked by brute force.

Zoom & Teams not GDPR compliant useable

[German]It's a bang – various video conferencing systems were subjected to a short test at the Berlin Data Protection Commissioner. Microsoft's teams or Zoom, as well as WebEx from Cisco, failed as a GDPR compliant video conferencing solution failed.

0patch for 0-day RCE vulnerability in Zoom for Windows

[German]ACROS Security has released a micropatch for the Remote Code Execution (RCE) vulnerability in Zoom for Windows. There is no CVE identifier for the vulnerability.

Zoom outage?

The video conference service Zoom experienced a major outage a few hours ago and the service was no longer available. In the meantime, Zoom seems to have fixed the issue.

Security concerns: Zoom banned in some US schools

[German]Some US schools have now forbidden their teachers to continue using the Zoom service. The reason is security concerns and the recommendation is to switch to Microsoft Teams.

Zoom cuts data transfer to Facebook in iOS app

[German]he provider Zoom has just attracted attention because its iOS app for web and video conferencing transferred data to Facebook. As soon as it became known, the provider removed the corresponding framework from the app.
